If your student has not participated in athletic activities during the fall, he/she will need to complete the athletic requirements listed below in order to be eligible to start practices. This information must be turned in to Mrs. Clark in the office before the student will be allowed to practice: In addition to the paperwork and physical requirement I will be administering an online test called ImPACT. ongratulations to 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Choir members on an outstanding performance at the LMS Winter Choral Concert on December 7th. Students did a wonderful job entertaining their audience with the music they have been working on so far this year. Many families ordered and received CD recordings of the concert. If you did not order a CD and would still like to, have your child contact Mrs. James. The cost for each concert CD is $10.00. A big thank you to Joe Covill for recording and producing the CDs for all of our music concerts. Thank you to 7th & 8th Grade Concert Choir members for your work with community outreach projects. On December 1st Concert Choir members performed with a local choir called “Tapestry” at their annual Pullman concert. (“Tapestry” brings fantastic concerts to many of our regional towns twice a year at no cost to the public.) Then, on December 5th Concert Choir members sang for the 50th Annual Kiwanis Pancake Feed. One highlight was a solo performance of “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” by 8th grader Bailey Smith. Funds raised at the Kiwanis Pancake Feed each year fund Kiwanis’ existing programs and grants along with other community projects. Now with the New Year there are many new performance opportunities for our LMS choir students. 7th & 8th Grade Concert Choir will begin preparing for small group performances at the annual South East Washington Music Educator's Association's Solo/Small Ensemble Festival on Saturday, February 6th held in Pullman at Lincoln Middle School. Students will perform for a judge and small audience in order to receive a rating based on specific choral performance criteria. They will also have the opportunity to work personally with the judge following their performance. All 7th & 8th Grade Concert Choir members will be working in class on these small group performances during the latter part of January. If there are any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade choir students that are interested in performing as a soloist contact me immediately so that you can begin to work on a performance piece. All soloists will need to work with me at lunch time and/or afterschool as well as put in quite a bit of rehearsal time on their own. The 7th & 8th Grade Concert Choir will be very busy during the first part of January preparing music for the Martin Luther King Jr. Assembly. This is another great LMS assembly produced by the LMS Leadership, Band, Choir, and Orchestra classes.

LMS BOOSTER CLUB
Scholastic Book Fair a Success!
Many thanks to all who helped make the book fair a success! Thanks to the parents, teachers, students and community members who shopped!! We made enough profits to purchase two big boxes of books for our library … AND the teachers received a bundle of “gift books” from you! Thanks for showing your support of reading! A BIG thanks to our LMS Librarian, Mrs. Jovanovich for her encouragement and for sharing her space in the library with our fair! Finally, a HUGE thanks to our wonderful volunteers who helped with setting up, selling and cleaning up: Ann Schumaker, Cynthia Jones, Kristi Tattershall, Candy Field, Lisa Swanson, Ann Parks, Karin Akmal, Jackie Whiteside, Dyan Bledsoe, Jean Logan, Sue Mendiola, Teri Rasmussen, Tami Pitzer, Mary Bolscheid, Lendi Bankhead, Tina Zweigle, Claudia Mickas, Jill Schneider and Jeanne Etheridge. See you at the spring sale! Staci Day, Susan Berg & Peggy Bryan The Book Fair Ladies
