The PSAT/NMSQT lets you:

  • assess your critical reading, mathematical reasoning, and writing skills
  • get specific suggestions on how to improve your academic skills
  • prepare for the SAT with a free personalized student plan
  • enter National Merit Scholarship Corporation competitions for recognition and scholarships
  • request free information from colleges and universities
  • use My College QuickStart to access free resources and information about college and career planning http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/psat/quickstart.html

My College QuickStart is available using the access printed on the student's score report. It can be utilized throughout high school.  Students' score reports will be available in mid-December of the year tested. 

The PSAT/NMSQT is given  October ONLY and it's the entry vehicle to the competitions for awards to be offered in the following school year.
