Tutoring
The Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) School Partnerships is the Pullman School District’s link to Washington State University. The CCE has formed an established partnership with the Pullman schools by providing free tutoring to parents and teachers for their students.
The CCE focuses on the building of our community and fostering student learning through civic engagement with School Partnerships being one way we strive to achieve this goal. Most WSU students interested in tutoring area youth are majoring in education and need to fill a community service learning requirement for a class. These students are simultaneously interested in working with local students and obtaining professional development for their future career.
We welcome all requests from both parents and teachers and are committed to finding you a tutor that matches your wants and needs. To apply for a tutor, please fill out the “Tutor Request Form” that is available by clicking on the link below. Print the form you need (parent or teacher request) and mail it to our office. Requests are then offered to our volunteers who select placements that best work for their schedule and interests. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that your placement will be selected; however, most of our placements were filled last semester.
This opportunity can make a difference between a good student and a great student. We encourage you to let the CCE help your student(s) excel in school by requesting a WSU tutor. If you have any questions, please contact us at:
